SEPTEMBER RAIN

Standing alone at the door,
heart breaking with pain,
I watch you walk away
in the September rain.

My dreams for our future
were all just in vain;
feeling shattered and lost
in the September rain.

Teardrops keep falling
but it's really plain
they won't bring you back
home to me again...

Your love for another
was deeper than for me;
and you left me alone
in your need to be free.

September teardrops
last through December;
then September's rain
is all I can remember.
