August moonchild

O Russell Alexander know
the grass upon the Earth doth grow
to shield your feet from life's harsh stones.

O newborn flesh upon Dad's chest.
O tiny charm upon Mom's breasts.
Be thou an answer to their prayers.

O Russell Alexander grow
with joy, with strength, with love ... and know
our thoughts sing you a lullaby.

O child of light, your parent's hope,
the essence of heartlove's result,
your fingers, eyes, your cries ... their joy.

O he who was 'neath August moon,
nine pounds four ounce, born none-too-soon:
Russell Alexander Barone.
Russell Alexander Barone.
