This is just a preview for the actual story.  I'm not finished with it yet.  I still have to edit it.

A young girl about the age of sixteen or seventeen sat in the cell by herself.  Her normally strawberry blond hair was dirty almost brown color and matted.  It was long, reaching down to the small of her back when she was standing.  She had her eyes closed and appeared to be sleeping.

When the sounds of boots echoing down the corner she opened her eyes.  Her irises were ebony black.  Her whole body tensed when her light source, a torch burning outside her cell, was blocked out by a person.

He was grotesque.  His arms and legs were overly muscled, but his torso was small.  His skin was a pale sickly green marred by occasional blotches of brown.  His four-fingered hand fumbled with his belt as he unclipped his keys.

He unlocked the cell door with a barely concealed grin.  When he stepped into the room she didn’t move despite fact that her muscles and brain were screaming at her to run.

She had her back pressed firmly against the wall as the demon approached her.  He crouched down to her level, his beefy arms resting on his large knees.

He chuckled harshly and snorted.  Her nose burned when the rancid smell of rotten flesh assaulted her nose.  She fought down her gag reflexes.  His grin disappeared and he said in his demonic language, “Girl, guess what?  We’ve a new prisoner and we need to make room for her.  Which means…”

(Important Notes About Writing.Com Word Searches Below!)

Important Writing.Com Notes: This item type uses a java applet (above). Once the page has loaded, it may take a few seconds longer for the applet to begin running. Once it appears, you must click "New Game" to start. The game will load the words for a few seconds and then begin. The game board is randomly regenerated each time you click "New Game", so no two games will ever be the same even with the same words! Any words which the game was unable to fit into the current board will be left out for this game.

To "circle" a word that you have found, start by clicking on the first or last letter of it. While continuing to hold the mouse button, drag the oval around the rest of the word and then release the mouse button. If you have correctly circled the word, it will change color in the listings and will remain circled on the game board. If you give up, click "Solve Game" to see where all the word were placed. Special thanks to Mike Hall for a great applet!

Have Fun and Good luck!
