Though murder stories proved popular in the 2013 round of Troublesome Musings, Missy's story stood out with a nuanced narrator and a surprise ending. Best Laid Plans is very engaging and allows the readers to develop the images independently. It is troubling and non-graphic, a rare but enjoyable combination.
