Busy Sunday
I've signed up for the 30-Day Blogging Challenge. In February I entered several contests, while I waited for March and the blogging challenge.

Today was a meeting day. Gracious. First there was a church officer's board meeting. We had it at a member's home, out on her ranch. Lovely. We gathered in her sun room, watched a few birds at her feeders. The best part was the wood-burning stove. The day began windy and cold. Then suddenly, "Everyone move to the living room." Darn. The meeting went on for two hours. I guess we decided on a lot. I got my assignments. Then I excused myself and drove back to Roundup.

I had a meal to deliver to a person who had surgery recently. This person defies description. She continually seeks surgery for problems; some real, some imagined. But we treat her with kindness, so I took her a meal. Our church has been doing this the past week. She tried to get me to stay and do her dishes. I gave her ideas on how to do the chore, a bit at a time. It has been more than a week post-op. She is capable. I had to come home and take care of my husband, I told her. "And what is wrong with him?" Well, nothing. He is my husband. I take care of him, I told her.

So I go home, we have our meal. We talk, we laugh. I take care of my life.

Then I go to my book club gathering. We were to read "Little Fires Everywhere". Good book. One person didn't read it all. She said she couldn't read anymore about 'those people'. She didn't want the characters in 'her head' all night. We had to tell her what she missed and what happened. She still doesn't want to read the book. Too bad. But I understand when a book just doesn't appeal.
Our next book is by Louise Erdrich. The library doesn't have it, it's due to be read in 2 weeks. Hmmm. Have to figure this one out.
