Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Hebrews 13:15
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

What is your favorite way to praise and Worship God? Make a list of ways you can give God praise.

Answer:
My favorite way to praise God is by telling him directly. My second favorite way is through music. I love singing songs of praise to God. He is faithful, almighty, creator of everything.

We can praise him:
By lifting our hands
Singing
Speaking
Serving
Praying
With instrament
With dance

Scripture writing - Philippians 2:14-18

Scripture:
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
17 Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
18 For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

Observations:
Verse 14- Do everything without fighting and fussing.
Verse 15- If you do this, your light will shine, and you can be blameless and harmless and without rebuke.
Verse 16- If they shine as lights in their world, then Paul had not labored in vain.
Verse 17- I think this is saying if Paul had to suffer for their faith, it would then be worth it.
Verse 18- they can also rejoice and have joy.

Application:
Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.

Prayer:
Dear God,
I want my light to shine brightly. Make me aware of anything that is dimming my light so we can work on fixing it.
In Jesus's name,
Amen

Prompt: Robert Frost said, ““A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness.”
How does a poem begin for you or what kind of a reaction do you feel when a poem is arriving?

When I begin to feel a poem coming on, I get a sense of vision and excitement. The ideas come rolling in. I feel the emotions. I see the picture in my mind, and then I write a description of what I am seeing, feeling, and hearing. Most come naturally to me. Others I have to work a little harder on, but writing poetry, writing in general is a joy to me.

What do you think poets need?

A good imagination, a little time to create, and something to write with is what a poet needs.

Day 3082: April 26, 2021

Prompt: “A good poem is a contribution to reality. The world is never the same once a good poem has been added to it. A good poem helps to change the shape of the universe, helps to extend everyone’s knowledge of himself and the world around him.” —Dylan Thomas
How does a good poem contribute to reality?

My personal opinion is that it depends on the poems. Some poems are fiction so I don't think that would contribute to reality. Others are a reflection of real things and emotions.
