A Rainy Night in Georgia
Each drop is falling from a cloud.
Humidity ensues.
The thunder claps its joy quite loud.
The elm tree limbs bemuse.

The dark is flooded with great falls
of water blest by God.
"Now, drink your fill, Sweet Plants," He calls.
As one, they laugh, applaud.

Some authors sleep, while others write,
the symphony begins.
The flutes and tympanies are bright.
Conducted notes He wins.

The glassy streets with mirrored lights
all warn the drivers, "Slow."
It's possible to drive these right,
if caution helps you go.

The rhythmic dripping on the roof,
creates a boat at sea,
that sleepers be they seasoned, youth,
will rest so blest and free.
