The Illusionist

so much is beautiful.
big shock, not me,
not like I believed.

I’m not whole, still healing
and I won’t see you,
even if you decide to pry.

why try.
not worthy, though I know
I present myself in a certain way.

sorry for my delusion,
assumed an illusion,
lifted so long it fell on me
because I’m not strong,
not whole

is it wrong
I believe I feel a certain way,
yet lay here, motionless,
quiet wishing you would lift,
make me whole?

I swear I’m not fake.
don’t know what this is?
why do I want to impress?
compared to you, why
do I lack so much self-love?
