LIVE IN THE PRESENT: a sonnet

[It is no use trying to reconstruct the past or plan the future.]



Why try to reconstruct a broken dream?
Why try to convert past into future?
Why try to churn water, expecting cream?
Why try to rein the forces of nature?

A broken heart can never be made whole.
What happened once can never be undone.
Something impossible can’t be a goal.
By man the nature can’t be ever won.

It’s wiser not to try to play the god.
It’s better that we do the task in hand.
It’s saner not to past and future prod.
It’s safer that we walk on solid land.

Man should do his duty in the present.
Else later he would his actions resent.
