Bee My Sonnet 11/23/2015
A poem is said to be a sonnet
When fourteen lines are writ upon it.
Filling paper with mere words and phrases
Compels a reader to quick turn pages.
Writing my sonnet with meter and rhyme,
A craft it 'tis embedded in time.
Nothing enticing is scribbled on here,
Just pithy words to make lines appear.
Fourteen phrases must comprise a sonnet;
A line abuzz - a bee in bonnet
Swiftly flitting about to end this rhyme.
Are you not glad 'tis finally time?
Ah writer-beware! Two more required lines-
Now THIS describes my ending quite fine!
Sonnet - comprised of 14 lines with a meter and rhyme scheme and a strong closing rhyme (Mayes). This sonnet employs an aabbccddeeffgg rhyme scheme.
