Golgotha - Form of the Week Balance
My Good Friday offering

Golgotha

"Release the thief, nail Jesus to the cross."
The crowd shouts, "Crucify Him!"
Pilate washes his hands,
a blameless man,
Our Lord.

They roared
and it began,
a thorny woven strand
was wound upon his head, no glim
of compassion for suffering, for loss.

A heavy wooden beam, no one could toss,
placed upon His back, straining limbs,
in pain, struggling to stand,
a caravan,
adored.

A sword
is thrust and ran
into his side, a brand,
while spikes are hammered into skin,
bone, and flesh and Jesus nailed to the cross.
