PROMPT January 18th

On my dining table, there is a bouquet of fresh-cut roses. They are fragrant and vibrant. There are winter white and rose pink blossoms, seven of each, fourteen in all. The buds are casually arranged in a clear wide glass vase. They have no particular meaning. I just enjoy fresh cut flowers in my home and depending on the season, the availability in my garden or the affordability from the store, I replace them weekly.

Right now, because of the cold, there are only holly berries and white crocus in my garden. I decided they needed to stay there. The grocery store I frequent had a special of seven roses for "$5.00 Friday". I bought two of the specials and combined the colors. Having had a long autumn with hues of gold and orange, then preparing for Christmas with everything red and green, I wanted to introduce a different vibe into my home, hence the rose pink and a homage to winter, white. They bring me joy.
