30 Day Blogging Challenge PROMPT for January 19, 2020

Write about something ordinary that brought you unexpected joy.

TRUE HAPPINESS AWAITS THOSE WHO CLICK PLAY

There seems to be something very ordinary about today's blog prompt. I certainly did not expect the joy it brought. My fellow bloggers may also know the joy that overcomes you when that lightbulb switches on and you know what you're going to write for your entry.

I've found some unexpected joy scattered throughout the blog entries and comments of this month's challenge. I was inspired to share additional information and write more detailed comments but was deterred by time constraints. I'll try to fill in some of the blanks in this entry in hopes that it will bring joy to all who read it.

January 1, 2020 - The Once and Future Blog - I decided to not share this image created by Fivesixer because I didn't want to scare people away from the website. MOLLY MUGGINSWORTH is real and haunts the basement of the Blogging Banana Bar.

For Andre's Blogging Bar.

January 4, 2020 - Modnar is Not a Word - Appearantly it is, and Kåre Enga in Udon Thani provided music/video proof.

I did not find joy in this, however, I did find joy in purchasing Ms. Julie's Julie D - PUBLISHED! book, On Purpose.

Fivesixer corrected my broken links in the comments section, in case you missed it, I'll re-submit them here. Learn the joy, of book-buying.

January 7, 2020 - Nobody's Prefect - I began this entry by writing, 'Save and Edit I lost my first entry because my laptop crashed.'

I've tried all the tech savvy fixes for this problem. Hitting the screen on the side, banging the mouse on the desk, turn it on and off. Then this purely genious hack. I put a baking cooling rack under my laptop, and it has only crashed two times since, and has been running well for the last eight days.

January 8, 2020 - Me? No I Never Did Anything Like That - "Me? No, I Never Did Anything Like That. I got a little lazy writing this entry and omitted some details from the fight scene on the roof, which inspired a couple comments from QPdoll and Happy 2024!

What happened was... The guys had a problem climbing onto the roof with the stuffed dummie in hand, and they broke the dummie in half.
This is why they appeared to be holding it together as they gave it a beating. I knew something didn't look right. The beating was very short and they tossed the dummie off the roof in two pieces. (reason why crowd response was underwhelming) We did some other stupid shit in those days I plan to write on in the future.

For tah2o who commented, "I have never heard of spaghetti made from a box kit! Interesting. Or, was it not? Fish from a box....fish sticks? Those would make for quite the combination, but still better (safer) than most of Andre's choices!"
box of spaghetti

And yes, Fish Sticks were a staple item.

January 14, 2020 - ASSume NOT - "ASSume NOT This took place several years after highschool. Mr.B hung out with a group of his teacher buddies at the track, a few of them I also had as teachers. After making my embarassing post race prediction, Mr. B walked over to his group of teacher friends, and I watched as he told them all what I had just said. I saw them laughing and looking over at me. A couple of them were compelled to come over and give me the gears. Mr. B is nearly 90 years old now, still goes to the track, and sometimes joins us at family celebrations. He mentions this story often and we all have a good laugh at my expence, which is fine, because... What ever brings joy, right.

January 18, 2020 - I'll show you mine... - "I'll show you mine...

"I played on one of the biggest stages in Winnipeg, *The Burton Cummings Theater. The theater was empty at the time, but I played my harmonica on the stage. (this is a good story but for another time)"

"If you noticed the little knitted monkey sitting on the guitar, that's part of my item too. If you don't know about my monkeys, then you haven't known me very long."

Further to Debi Wharton s comment - "Well, aren't you talented? Seriously, I'm impressed, I think you should create a YouTube channel for these talents for all to enjoy.
I am also jealous of your camera. I have an older Nikon D90 with an AF Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm lens. I rarely use it, but I should be using it more with the grandchildren.
I want to know more about the monkeys, sounds like a fun story there. You have piqued my interest."

I helped a friend with a business venture and together we made a presentation to the owners of the Burton Cummings Theater. Our presentation went very well, and afterwards we were invited to have a tour of the theater, which BTW, is an incredible historic building. On our tour, we had to walk across the stage. As I walked across the stage I looked out into the seating area and imagined it full to capacity. (there was no way of stopping me from what I did next) I took a harmonica out of my jacket pocket (always carry a harp) walked up to the edge of center stage and started to play.

My freind and tour guide turned back when they heard me play. My buddy, asked, with some concern, what are you doing? (I just kept playing) and the theater owner shushed him and said, let him play." Afterwards I answered my freinds question. I may never get this opportunity again, and now I can say, "I played the Burton Cummings Theater."

I've had this thing with monkeys all of my life; Not so much live monkeys, but imagined monkeys. I recall the day this infatuation began, and I will write about this at some future time. I think this was Andre the Blog Monkeys first visit to the vacant and vast sound stage which is my imagination.

I hope you enJOYed your day.

Peace out
