May Flowers

In my gated garden,
bold blue blossoms burst beside
passive pink peonies, precisely planted
along a brick border.
A riot of red rimmed roses rise
a tall trellis climbing to the sky.
Daisies dance along the back fence
next to trumpets in white and gold.
It’s true what they say,
April showers . . . .
