| Apologies for Silence A few people may have noticed the distinct lack of contributions from me over the past few days. This was unavoidable as I had an accident on Friday that landed me in hospital until yesterday (Sunday). For reasons unclear (take your pick between heart condition, low iron level in the blood and a recent meal), I passed out in the bathroom and bashed my head rather severely on the way down to the tiled floor. It was a few minutes before I regained consciousness and, in the meantime, my wife had summoned an ambulance. So I was already part of the system and had to submit to the usual indignities and tests in the medical organisation. The hospitals and staff around here are particularly good, however, and I was dealt with speedily and efficiently. I was surprised to be released so swiftly, in fact And now it’s Monday and I can find out what’s been going on. It will be a while before I am able to participate at the same level as before, as the low iron level has left me weak and without energy. I shall try as much as I can and can only apologise for my unusual terseness. Word Count: 202 |
