The Third Short Story This Month

I didn’t have Jury Duty today after all. Unfortunately, I didn’t find out about it until last Friday. As a result, I had already written three more parts for the third Short Story that I’m trying to write for this month. That only leaves one more part until I finished it. I could have done that Friday night or Saturday morning. But I decided until today to do it.

That is what I have done too. I also finished this Short Story. In fact, I only completed it a few hours ago. Why did it take me so long to finish writing about four hundred words? Normally, the answer to that is my brother and me needing to do some things on my first day off from work. And that it is sort of true. But that didn’t take us too long to accomplish. So, I had plenty of time to finish writing it.

What took me so long to finish this part and Short Story was the word count. It was almost three hundred words over the four hundred that I needed. Of course, I had a little bit under some of the other parts so that I could be a little bit over four hundred. But not that many. I had to do some re-writing. Even after four or five re-writes, I still hadn’t gotten down that much.

I had no choice but to cut out several parts of it that I wanted to keep. But I couldn’t. And that did it. I finally finished it. Unfortunately, that’s about all that I got done today. True, I have done by Grammarly check on it. Now all I need to do is itemize it and then post it into this contest. Which I’m going to do right after I finish this blog entry.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do tomorrow when it comes to my writing except for writing another blog entry. I could take the day off from it as I do work on Mondays and Tuesdays. But I’m not that kind of writer. True, there have been a lot of days that I have written anything or not too much for one reason or another. I try to do it every day. But it often doesn’t work out that way.

There is one thing that I must do tomorrow. But it’s only going to take a few hours to do it. And as far as I know, that’s all that needs to be done. If that’s true, I will have plenty of time to work on some writing. The big question is what writing will I work on? Maybe I will continue working on my novels that I’m going to be working on toward the end of this year.
