It Has Been a Long, Long Day

Unfortunately, it hasn’t been a long day for my writing. It has been just the opposite. I haven’t gotten any writing done on my latest Short Story. That’s because I haven’t had the time to get on my laptop to do this blog entry until now. That is how long of a day it has been for me today.

There was something that I had to do today. And it took the whole day to do it. It all started early this morning at seven-thirty WDC time. Unfortunately, I didn’t get home from it until about an hour ago. I have spent that hour trying to calm down. That’s how long it was. True, I don’t start writing this blog entry until about now anyway. But that doesn’t mean I could have gotten some writing done first.

The whole day wasn’t a total loss, though. It’s true, I didn’t get any writing done until now. But it went a lot faster than I thought that it would. Especially, this afternoon. It was kind of fast this morning. But not as fast as it was this afternoon.

Now that I’m writing again, will I get my latest Short Story finished. That is the plan. As for if I will do it, that is still up in the air. I have finished it. All that I need to do is to tweak it a little bit before I can create it and post it to this contest. What I mean by tweak is that I need to go over it again to keep it under two thousand words. It’s not going to be easy. But I can do it.

I only have a few more days until the end of this month to post it. That means if I can’t do it tonight, I will have to do it tomorrow night after I get home from work. That’s possible. I worked on it a few nights after work last week to finish it. There is no reason why I can do it again. But I don’t want to do that if I don’t have to.

Why take the chance in not getting it posted in time. It’s best if I complete it tonight before I go to sleep. And that’s what I plan on doing. Even if it takes me most of the night to do it. True, it wouldn’t be that big of a deal to create it and post it in the past. But this year I’m trying to make my short stories formatting the same as my Word formatting. And that’s not very easy to do. It can be done in time. But the operative word there is time.
