Jesus did not disrespect his mother.
For my blog

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Yesterday was Mother's Day. In John 2:1-5, Jesus and his mother are talking. What do you think about what Jesus said to his mother and in what tone do you think it was said in? How would your mother responded if you talked to her like that?

John 2:1-5
1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

Answer:
I like to think that Jesus had a tone of endearment. I can't believe he would be disrespectful to his mother. Although, now if you talked to your mother that way, it would be disrespectful. I guess it depends on the person. My mother would have probably slapped me in the mouth if I had said that to her. 🤷‍♀️

PROMPT May 10th

Think back to a time when you felt completely calm. What made you feel that way?

I think I am most calm at the end of the day, I don't have anything pressing going on the next day, and I have just finished my nightly prayer. Everything has been talked over with Go, my day is done, and I can finally get some rest until the next morning.

Prompt“Too often, we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment,
or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to
turn a life around.” Leo F. Buscaglia

Who in your life gave you all the nice stuff Leo Buscaglia has talked about? Or if you wish, who can give all those things to anyone? How? Write about it.

I try to give at least one of those to everyone I meet. It is about loving others the way Jesus loves me.

I wrote this after seeing the Brussels bombing. We need hope right now.

Write about this in your Blog entry today.

Hope is a necessity of life. When people lose hope, they lose their desire to live and their will to fight.

Day 3097: May 10, 2021

Prompt: “They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.”
― Tom Bodett

Use this quote to inspire your blog entry.

Anyone who is not a Christian may not understand why I say Jesus Christ fulfills all those things for me. They may not understand why I want to talk about him all the time and might even acusemeof being brain-washed.

My hope is found in Salvation through the shed blood of Christ. I hope for joining Jesus in the Kingdom of God when I die my earthly death. I hope for a crown of righteousness as promised in the scriptures.

My something to do is living for Jesus, the one who gave his life for me. It is trying to get others to live for him too so they can also have the same hope that I do.

My someone to love is also Jesus. Through him, I can love everyone else too because he loves them and gave himself for them too.
