RIP Benny, the moth.
A Moth was found trapped in a cup and left on the stove this morning. There was writing on the cup, "RIP Benny". There was also a note saying he (my sixteen-year-old boy) found it in his room, and he was unable to kill it, and could not let it go because it would just come back into the house.

Of course, his mother sees the cup and immediately lifts the cup up to look at it, which releases the moth. Obviously, she did not read the note. Though, yelling at me to rescue her, I gently refuse; instead, I suggest she get the fly swatter.

"I'm not killing it!" she exclaimed.

"You don't' have to kill it," I said. "Just push it out the window."

I had to laugh when I looked back at the reasoning my son put into the note about how it was not his fault if the moth died in the cup. It should not have come into the house! And, what made him name it Benny? True story...
