Last Night and Today

I’m not sure how I did it. But I did. I finished writing my third Short Story for this month. Not only did I finish it, but I also created it along with my second Short Story that I have been meaning to do for almost a week now. That’s not all, though. I also entered all three of the contests that I wanted to enter this month.

I know that I’m not going to win any of these contests because I never do. But that’s not why I write these short stories. It’s because of the challenge. That’s why I write them. Whether it’s the challenge of remembering a story like it is when it comes to my Science Fiction ones or coming up with a good one that isn’t Science Fiction.

Last night was my biggest victory in finishing this third Short Story for this month. No, I didn’t have to pull an overnighter. But I did spend about half of it to get seven more parts done before I went to sleep last night. I only had two more to finish today before it was finished.

That could have been a problem depending on what my brother and I needed to do today. Luckily, there wasn’t too much that needed to be done. And what we did do we did it later on in the day. So, I had plenty of time to finish this story. I also had time to get it under two thousand words too. And that wasn’t easy. But I did it.

Once I finished it, I did my Grammarly check. That wasn’t too bad. The only real problem that I had was with my spelling. That was only because of what this Short Story was about aka it was Science Fiction. And the character names weren’t Earth names. So, I had to add them to my dictionary.

Now I can relax. At least I can for another day. Then next month comes. And so do more short stories I hope. I will probably do one of them because the WDC contest is usually for short stories. Even so often it for poetry, essays, etc. but mostly it’s short stories.

My Other two contests I have no idea if or when they will do them or if I’m getting the chance to write a Short Story for them. Either they don’t show up for months with one of them for me or they don’t start until toward the middle of the month. Giving me only two weeks to write them.
