The Tempest
An icy wind blows through thorns
Biting, piercing, hurting
Thunderclaps in the darkness
Awaken the blind

The lightning cracks the empty night
Flashing, searing, breaking
Sparks from the Blacksmith's hammer
As He remakes our world

Heaven's truth is an intruder
Invading, shattering, probing
Strange speech, a foreign accent
We struggle to understand

Why does the Light hurt us?
Burning, exposing, shining
Reality is shaped like a man
He calls Himself Jesus

Listen to this stranger's voice
Hoping, loving, living
He brings good news in the Tempest
That washes away our dirt
