Young and Dumb

Why does it seem so hard
When we have come so far
I hit you when you were off-guard
To my shame, it left a scar

Can you forget to hate
The wrongs we have done
Which drugs and drink obliterate
While hearts burn hot like the sun

Tonight someone else can carry
The weight of who we are
Let us party and make merry
Let tomorrow worry about new scars

Let brains explode into music
Let fists fly into ashen faces
Let sex be rough and abusive
As we destroy consciences traces

Our excuse is that we're young
We have never learned better
Let the world burn when we have sung
The broken lyrics of love's letter
