Recipe: Waffles
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of sour dough starter or sour cream
1 cup of milk
2 tbsp of fat
1 large egg
1 cup of whole grain spelt flour
1 tbsp of sugar
2 tsp of backing powder
1/2 tsp of salt
Method:
1. Preheat the waffle iron.
2. Mix the liquid and dry ingredients separately.
3. Gradually whisk the dry ingredients into the wet.
4. The batter can be stored for up to 2 days.
5. Cook as directed in the waffle iron.
6. Leftover waffles can be frozen for up to 2 months. Heat from frozen in a toaster or a 350°F oven.
