Qualia
I looked up qualia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qualia and it turned out to be over 20 pages of heavy philosophy. I have four of the references they quoted (out of 76) in my library. Those guys use better words to say about the same thing as I was referring to Sunday. Even the computer engineer/philosopher, Roger Orpwood, used a programming technique to support his views on qualia.
My only contribution is the required dynamic reinterpretations of experiences through re-experiences and recalls that enhance .the longevity of memories. That is qualia. It is not a 'thing' but a dynamic process.
Consciousness is the sum of all qualia. You have been accumulating them since birth (maybe even before). Your understanding of the world came through your senses.
Memories are not permanent unless accessed. Do you remember what you had for lunch on March 14, 1997? Probably not, unless something made you recall it several time, maybe years later. You might have recalled it March 15, or March 16, 1997. But without a sufficient recurrent recalls, the memory fades. It can be retrieved, but not in it's original state. Maybe close, but intervening life will have altered it some.

         Gosh, I love these walks.
