Another Tuesday of No Writing

I don’t like to write blog titles like the one above or write a blog about it. But I have been doing that a lot lately. And it usually has to do with my WDC Short Story for that month. Sometimes it’s the second regular Short Story that I’m writing. But not this month since there aren’t any more stories for this month.

Maybe no other short stories this month is a good thing considering it’s taking me so long to write this one. With only four more days off to write it, it may be one that I don’t get written unless I must do it after I get off from work. And I don’t really want to do that unless I have no other choice. This month may be one of those choices that I must meet in order to get it written.

With four more days off, I should be able to finish it. That’s only about five hundred words per day. I have done it before. And there’s no reason I can’t do it again. But I don’t want to do it unless I have no other choices. I don’t like waiting until the last second to finish a Short Story. Especially, if it’s a WDC Short Story. That’s when I start to panic. And as a result, my Short Story suffers too.

What I would like to do is get it done within the next two days off. That’s about a thousand words a day. I have done that before when I entered the Writer’s Block contest several years ago. So, it can be done. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to do it in quite a while. Can do it with my scriptwriting sentences and paragraphs. But not with my Short Stories.

Why haven’t I gotten any writing done today on this WDC Short Story? And why won’t I get any written after I finish writing this blog entry and posting it? What is the usual reason why I can? That’s right. It’s because of what my brother and I had to do today and a lack of sleep last night. Both are true about today.

I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night because I thought that we didn’t have a lot that needed to be done today. But I was very wrong about that. Instead of sleeping in, I had to get up very early this morning. As a result, I only got a few hours of sleep last night. Between no sleep and what needed to be done today is the reason for me not getting any writing done today.
