There is a lot within me Other Than Scriptwriting. This blog is devoted to those stories.

It's Not Looking Too Well
It’s Not Looking Too Well

Supposedly, today was supposed to be our last day of moving from our old place to our new house. But it wasn’t. It’s not all bad news, though. True, this should have been our last day of moving. But the only thing left to do is some cleaning. And most of it has already been done. All that is left is what is in the garage. Unfortunately, there will be about five or six bags full of that trash.

It shouldn’t take us that long to do it. About two hours. If it even takes us that long. Once we get that done, we will turn in our keys and garage remote control. And we will be officially out of that place. It took us my whole Vacation Time Off to do it. But it is finally done.

Only it’s not completely done yet. The move may be done. But moving into our new house isn’t. After all, most of it still needs to be sorted out to where it belongs in our new place. Right now, it’s in the garage. Now, all we need to do is take it out of the garage and place it where it belongs. Except for the trash. It will remain in there until we can remove it with our new trash service.

Finally finishing the move out of our old place isn’t the only reason why we aren’t going to be out of there until tomorrow. Even if we had gotten it done today, we couldn’t turn in anything until tomorrow anyway. That’s because our Property Manager wasn’t in there today. True, they have a mail slot on their door. But it’s an extremely small opening. The keys may have fit through it. Not the remote, though.

The problem with returning the keys and remote isn’t the only reason we need to go back there. I also have an appointment to tag my car. They claim I owe property tax for a car that I got rid of about fourteen years ago. Only they didn’t start charging me for it until around five years ago. I want to fight it. But I can’t. Because I need a waiver so that I can tag it in Kansas. Even though I have just over a year before my Missouri plates expire.

Why am I babbling about the move today? It’s because I didn’t get any writing done today on my WDC Short Story. That means I’m going to need to do an all-nighter if I want to get it done before the end of tomorrow. I don’t want to do it. But I have no choice. It’s either that or no WDC contest entry this month. True, I may be very tired for the move tomorrow. But my writing is more important to me than finishing this move.
