Another Typical First Day Off from Work

Yes, I know that I’m not working where I used to work before, I moved to my new house. But it’s still ironic that today was like it used to be when this was my first day off from work. What needed to be done today may have been a little bit different. It still needed to be done, though. Unfortunately, this is what I have been doing all day today.

It started extremely early this morning when I couldn’t sleep. As a result, I only got about three hours of sleep last night. Just like where I used to work. I also had to get up earlier than planned. That’s why I only got three hours of sleep last night.

I was supposed to sleep until eleven AM my time, noon WDC Time. But I got up about an hour and a half because of a plumbing problem that has been bothering us for the last few days. I’m not going to go into the details of it because I don’t write about this kind of problem. Even if it is only a blog entry I’m writing.

Then after that was over, we needed to take my car in to be checked out. Yesterday while we were out to get something to eat, the Check Engine Light came on in my car. But that isn’t all it did, though. The engine stopped several times before we got home with our food. Luckily, the car started right up again.

It didn’t take us too long to get it to be fixed. But we had to leave it there. The repair place gave us a ride back to our new house which was only about a mile away. They said it would probably be tomorrow before we got it back. But it was only a few hours before they called me to say it has been fixed.

After we returned home, I didn’t have any time to work on my WDC Short Story for this month. Normally, I would have been able to work on it. But not right now I can’t. I need to get a job. And the only time I can do that is during the daytime hours. Unfortunately, I didn’t get too far with it today either.

Tomorrow morning is going to be very busy too. My brother has a doctor’s appointment. And I need to go with him. Just in case he can’t drive home for some reason or another. True, we only live a few miles from the VA hospital. But he still wants me to go too. It shouldn’t take him too long to get it done.

So, I may get some writing done tomorrow on this Short Story. But I’m not going to count on this until it happens. After all, I still have a job to look for. I’m going to try to get some more writing done on it. But after what is been happening lately, I’m not hopeful that I can do it.
