Question

Moments measured in the sands of time
falling from globe to sphere,
or step of the catchment wheel
in clockwork mechanical dance,
the circling sun’s shadow traced,
and crystal squeezed for pips,
so we count the endless stream,
instants numbered, classified,
the tally of lives and much beyond,
to eras, ages, epochs, all,
and mortal or eternal stand,
unanswered question still remains,
How did it get so late so soon?
