Hoarder: To a Cat Lady I Once Knew
Hoarder:
To a Cat Lady I Once Knew

She was a hoarder,
not of knowledge
or books,
but of felines.

She collected cats,
like some people collect antiques,
proudly showing them off
to everyone who would enter
her domain.

One day
one of her mama cats--
who has lost her kittens--
brought home a baby skunk:
the entire neighborhood knew
the exact moment
that the mother skunk
retrieved her offspring.
