Clip clop clip clop
The sound of hooves
Drew near

Neigh neigh
The cry of a horse
Calls out

"Come out come out
Wherever you are for I am here,"
The rider called out.

Out I came
A bucket in my hand
Prepared.

The rider aloft
Missing a head but body intact
Turned toward me.

In fear I turned
Only to find him in front of me
Vulnerable.

"No, no, no.
You haven't said the magic word.
Go on."

I thought and thought
The magic word couldn't be simple
And panicked.

"Please go on.
It's Halloween night.
Let me be."

"You said it.
I'm going on my way to trick
Someone else."
