I Swore I'd Never Turn In To My Mother
I swore, I did, I have to admit,
that I'd never turn in to my mother.
I'd never say the things that my mother did,
not to my daughter, nor to her brother.

Where's your books and your lunch
and your homework at?
I never meant to nag,
but I heard myself say that.

Clean your room, fold your clothes,
put your stuff away.
I heard the words come out,
not what I meant to say.

Be polite, make a friend
Don't forget to share.
Good advice, I admit,
but those are Mum's words there.

I suppose it's because
kids are all the same.
And nothing ever goes as planned
in the parenting game!
