Music To Inspire
The road can be long,
feel lonely, and wrong,
when your mind is blank,
inspiration rank.

Sometimes you need tunes
on long afternoons
to inspire your muse
and break through the blues.

The toll of church bells,
metallic farewells.
The plink of high notes
and a deep voice floats.

Lyrics swirl higher,
dare to inspire.
A fresh outlook waits,
beyond dire straits.

It’s really Pink Floyd
who fill in the void –
High Hopes in the sun,
my poem is done.

Rhyming couplets. Written 8 May 2014.
