Light The Match And Stand Well Back
Husbands are funny things,
crazy, annoying, irritating things.
If you let them know that something irks,
they're more likely to enjoy the fun it brings.

"Don't touch my ears," I snap at him,
he grins and notes it down
in a wee notebook in his mind
called 'Things That Make My Ellie Frown'.

"Shut the bloody pantry door!"
So he nudges it open and smirks at me.
"Ugh, you have horrible coffee breath!"
So "Give us a kiss!" he chirps, crowding me.

"Boobs!" he cries, gleefully,
like a toddler reaching for a toy.
I narrow my eyes and glare at him,
a clear message - Watch it, boy.

He does wide eyed innocence crazy well,
it's almost believable except to me.
Just when I snap and my temper's lost,
"Aw, come on now babe, don't get grumpy."
