Fishhead Beach

Beyond the salty sea
and shifting sand the scree
covered slopes rise out of reach
to cliffs above the NorCal coast.
Below, sea lions bask and boast.
while sardonic seagulls screech
their scornful, signature cry
across the cloud-screened sky.
