Introducing Merit Badges!
Greetings Members!

We're pleased to introduce a brand new, innovative concept for the Writing.Com
Community that further allows our members to encourage, support and reward
each other!

:: Can You Write A Simple Letter? ::
If yes, you could be in big demand, earning big money, writing just a few
hours a day
from anywhere in the world you choose to be. Here's how you
can learn the secrets of this little-known, lucrative business:

                   <<   http://www.thewriterslife.com/wc   >>

Please support our Sponsor and visit their site today!

:: Introducing Merit Badges ::
Merit Badges are the perfect way to recognize another Writing.Com member
for effort and excellence! As awardicons are awards for items, Merit Badges are
awards for the authors themselves!
Whether given out for the member's writing,
reviewing, interactions or personality, a Merit Badge will be a lasting reminder
of your sincere appreciation.

Writing.Com Merit Badges are virtual symbols of appreciation that are given at
will from one member to another. Each badge is custom-designed to represent a
particular trait, specialty skill or theme. This image (when received) resides on a
special page within a member's portfolio and may be viewed by the public as long
as that account exists.

Merit Badges should be given to any Writing.Com member who has affected
you in some way. Is there someone who you feel has excelled in a certain genre
or a type of writing? Has a member supported you through his or her words or
actions? No reason is too trivial; all members appreciate positive recognition!

Each Merit Badge costs 10,000 Gift Points each time you want to give one
to another member. There is no limit to the amount of Merit Badges you may
give out or receive.

All of your Merit Badges will be stored and available from within your public and
private portfolio. To view your collection, just head to your portfolio and click
Merit Badges from underneath your large portfolio icon. Visitors to your portfolio
will also access your Merit Badges from this same link.

To see the available Merit Badges or to give one to another member visit:

In addition, Shop: Merit Badges is available from your Gift Point Tools pull
down menu for quick access to the shop at any time.
