New WritingML & Convention Information!

This email is full of information about improvements to the WritingML system
and updates on our 2004 Convention!

:: Writing.Com Convention 2004 Coming Soon! ::
We laughed, we cried. Friends met for the first time and strangers became
close friends. We have a fun-filled, creative and inspiring time planned for
all who attend the Writing.Com Convention 2004.

Over 50 of the 70 spots are filled. 25 of those signed up have attended a
Writing.Com convention in the past and 10 of those are returning for the

:: Showing WritingML For Examples ::
You can now double up the braces on your WritingML tags when posting
examples. When the system finds {{item:100931}} it knows to parse the
WritingML as an example.
         {{item:100931}} will produce {item:100931}.

This new functionality within the WritingML system should make explaining
things to newer members much easier.


:: New 'ltitem' WritingML Tag ::
The new "Line Time" Item tag includes the last modification time of the item
being displayed. This is useful when making a list of forums, books or other
often updated items. For example, {ltitem:100931} will yield:
         "Writing.Com General Discussion"  - Last Post: 04-23-24 @ 6:29am


:: Convention 2004 Scholarship! ::
Each year, Writing.Com raises funds to help those who need some help to
attend our convention. The Scholarship Fund is open to all members of
Writing.Com who are Registered Authors and higher and have had an account
for 3 months or more. For more information and to apply, please visit:
