A MEETING WITH A GHOST
A MEETING WITH A GHOST

[A Halloween fun poem, minus the vowel u]

Dancing with my own shadow,
Beneath the nascent moon,
As I traversed the forest,
Trying to get home soon;

In the Halloween night I
Was by a ghost waylaid.
He came and whispered:“All men,
Are of me so afraid!”

I told him “I am not, since
I have nothing to lose.
What can a ghost deprive me,
Except, of shirt and shoes?

A ghost needs no shirt, nor shoes,
So I need not bother.
Compared to a ghost, in fact,
I’m certainly better”.

The poor ghost was speechless and
Beat a hasty retreat.
Meantime I crossed the forest
And came to the main street.
