These poems are about the strength of humanity and its weakness. They carve our image.

Cure for a Cold and a "Down in the Dumps"
What do you do when a cold comes to spend time with you?

Cure for a Cold and a "Down in the Dumps"

A cold brings out the worst in folks.
They sneeze and cough and squirm,
Then swallow things like raw egg yolks
In order to purge their germ.

Me, whenever I’ve got a cold,
I keep the cure real plain.
A soup of pepper in a bowl
Soon takes away my pain.

When the sneezing’s gone
And I can breathe again,
I snuggle, full of yawns,
In blankets to my chin.

Then the cat and I, we snooze
And snore away my cold.
I don't get up until the news.
Sleep's better than all drugs sold.

But another cure I like to use
Is a movie that makes me titter.
Whenever I’ve got the frowns or blues,
A good laugh makes me fitter.

But regardless of whatever mood
Derives from colds or gloom,
I recommend a dose of gratitude,
For it can bring life's bloom.
