I AM AN AUTUMN LEAF
I AM AN AUTUMN LEAF


I am but an autumn leaf,
Lasting but a season.
But, for living longer, I
Don’t have any reason.

I was meant to serve him who
Brought me into this world.
My job was to silently
Obey his every word.

He fed and supported me
As I danced in the air.
In spreading his glory I
Too have had a share.

He has brought me down so that
I may, my maker, meet.
As I mingle in the dust,
I do worship His feet.
