POTS OF GOLD


Some bask in riches galore;
Others want bread and no more.

This world is truly varied;
Some generous, some with greed.

For diamonds aspires a dame;
Some too poor to hide their shame.

Some don’t know what hunger is;
For others, no fowl or fish.

Those who have too much to keep
Have no peace of mind or sleep.

Yet the poor are spared the bills
From doctors for sleeping pills.

Sages made a choice, of old:
Golden heart, not pots of gold.
