Introducing Item Aliases!

We're pleased to introduce Writing.Com's newest feature: Item Aliases.

:: Introducing Item Aliases! ::
Writing.Com's new Item Aliases allow members to create a means to reference their
items aside from their numerical Item ID numbers. For example, the support forum,
item #303715 can be referenced as {item:support} because an Item Alias has been
created for it.

It is often much easier to remember words than numbers. The Item Alias system was
created to allow members to create more easily remembered references to their items.
An Item Alias can be used anywhere an item number can be used!

Item Aliases cost a one time fee of 10,000 Gift Points to purchase plus a 2,500
Gift Point yearly renewal fee. The renewal fee is automatically charged to your Gift
Point account each year on the alias's anniversary. Once a specific Item Alias has
been purchased, no one else may purchase or own the exact same Item Alias unless
it is deleted by the purchaser.

The Item Alias system can be accessed from your My Places pull down menu as
My Item Aliases, or you can access it directly at:
          http://www.writing.com/main/tools/action/my_aliases

:: Reminder: Add Your Mailing Address ::
Writing.Com now allows members to add a mailing address to your "My Account" area.
Providing your mailing address allows Writing.Com the option of sending you real
mail and may allow other members of Writing.Com to purchase items from "Our Store"
and have them shipped directly to you. Writing.Com will not sell your mailing address
to anyone and gifting members will never be provided with your mailing information!

To add or edit your mailing address, head to your My Account -> Edit Personal
Information area... or visit this URL:

:: Reminder: Item Transfer Fee Reduced! ::
The fee to transfer an item from one member's portfolio to another member's portfolio
has been reduced to 1,000 Gift Points. (Previously, this fee had been 10,000
Gift Points.) You can access the Transfer An Item tool from your My Account page.
