My poems for the 21 days of poetry.

March 9th Prompt: Witness to a murder
Full of Sorrow
The kerosene can sat near the door
Wiped of any prints

Purchased at an out of town store
Along with some needed flints

The plans were made to perfection
Nothing was left to chance

He was hoping for no detection
So no one looked askance

As the fire began to grow
His victims lay inside

How was he to know
I was hiding behind the slide

I quickly ran to use the phone
Relaying all my fears

His cover would soon be blown
His anonymity disappears

Sadly, I wasn’t quick enough
The victims perished inside

Getting over this will be rough
But I know at least I tried.
