8.25.11 Slavery, everyman's hands are tied
Quote of the day: Patterning your life around other's opinions is nothing more than slavery. - Lawana Blackwell

Are we not all slaves then?
As children we are slaves to our parents. As adolescence strikes, our eyes widen to the standards of our peers, becoming slaves to their opinions. All the while maintaining the required submission of our parents. As young adults, we see life in a whole new light. A light that shines from the makeup of society's calling. We aim to be, strive for, that certain position in society's system, trying to gain status, we aim. We are slaves. It is not until late adulthood, when the kids have grown, that we realize, it was all in vain. We relax now, enjoy the grandchildren, enjoy the time of retirement in tranquility. We watch the world  pass on by.
