Sometimes we just want to read about the holiday we're closest to. |
Scientists talk CAN explain a miracle, sometimes. The following poem is a Dodoitsu. A Dodoitsu is formatted in the following manner: Line 1: 7 syllables Line 2: 7 syllables Line 3: 7 syllables Line 4: 5 syllables Silver Star of Bethlehem They argue over the star Of Bethlehem from afar. And today call it quasar. ¹ Or a “mega-star.” ² But I think they miss the point. That star does not disappoint. A world twisted, in disjoint, Was seamed by one point. They argue over that star But how mistaken they are Not to recognize that star As God’s own pulsar.³ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Footnotes: Please read. ¹ A quasar is a star-like object that has an extremely great red-shift ² A mega-star is a layman's term that refers to a super bright object, usually a red-giant star that is giving off so much energy that it is in danger of burning itself out. ³ A pulsar is a star-like object, a pulsating radio source emitter. I have used pulsar as a metaphor in reference to the fact that the star of Bethlehem led the wise man and all of the Christian world to a belief in Jesus. And it still does. Therefore, that star still pulsates the news of God's gift. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
