Sometimes we just want to read about the holiday we're closest to. |
When you finish shopping early, what is there left to do, but start again? A Writer's Cramp mono-rhyme: Christmas Shopping In October I’ve been preparing for our Christmas throughout this week, Buying right and left; with a most ingenious technique. I grabbed up several toys for my niece, dear Dominique. For my brother there’s metal weights to help his physique. My sister gets a CD they call The Unique Sheik. I bought my mother facial rubs and salves from Clinique. My father needed aftershave; this one’ll make him reek. My hubby got a golf set, that just might be antique, For my puppy a rubber ball, the kind that has a squeak, I even found a furry bed at the Kitty Pet Boutique. My list has all been finished, which kind of makes me freak. I’ve even wrapped it all so no one can sneak a peek, But now what am I supposed to do with nothing left to seek? When the malls are full of Christmas, to me it will be bleak, For my Christmas shopping is completely finished. Eek! I know; there’s an answer for one who has scaled the peak. I won’t smile at others, sublime in Christmas mystique. I’ll start on next year! With good cheer and a rosy red cheek, I’ll set forth for another Christmas gift hide and seek. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
