Life in 2013
The July 31, 2013 prompt for "Blogging Circle of Friends Prompt Forum is
It’s the year 2113. A major museum is running an exhibition on life and culture as it was in 2013. You’re asked to write an introduction for the show’s brochure. What will it say?

Have you ever wondered what it was like to live one hundred year ago? Have you every wondered how your great grandparents lived in 2013? The International Museum of Art and Technology presents Life in 2013 an exhibit featuring the items left behind by ordinary people living in the second decade of the twenty-first century. All of the items featured in this exhibit come from time capsules, archaeological digs of ordinary homes and garbage dump sites that date back to the year 2013.

Some of the intriguing items in this exhibit are
         debit cards
coffee carafes with samples of the coffee these items brewed
         computers and other technological devices
         a vegetable garden
         furniture and clothing
         hard and soft currency
hard cover and soft cover books

While many people in 2013 thought the world was coming to an end because of the international wars and terrorist, other people believed that the planetary unity we experienced today was on the horizon. One of the featured exhibits shows the items that these two divergent groups held dear. Another exhibit is one of the homes that the people of 2013 lived in. There are exhibits for every aspect of life in 2013, please take the time to see how your great grandparents survived and lived in that historic year.

Thought of the Day: “After all, isn't the purpose of the novel, or of a museum, for that matter, to relate our memories with such sincerity as to transform individual happiness into a happiness all can share?” ― Orhan Pamuk, The Museum of Innocence
