"Signatures" (Poetry/Day 26)

Signatures

Emails arrive and postings gather;
each comes with something quite unique.
A signature that tells the world
about the author and their mystique.

Some are simple; fancy names
with flourishes and colors bright.
Other’s challenge you to think
about the image, not the write.

Some I think must be bipolar
changing sigs with every view.
Some resist passage of time;
they won’t change to something new.

Regardless of the signature
they fill each message with delight
whether dark and foreboding
or filled with butterflies and light.

So choose your signature with care
and you’ll find that you’re not ignored.
Just limit images embedded,
too many look like a billboard!
