Seven Deadly Sins: A recent encounter
The September 19, 2013 prompt for "Blogging Circle of Friends Prompt Forum is
Which of the seven deadly sins are you most likely to commit?

Before I could respond to this prompt, I had to Google the seven deadly sins because I had forgotten what their names. According to the website Freedom of Faith, the these sins are (1) Lust, (2) Gluttony, (3) Greed, (4) Sloth, (5) Wrath, (6) Envy, and (6) Pride.1 As a 66 year old human being, I have probably committed, at one time or another in my life, all of these sins. My most recent encounter was with gluttony.

This week I ate an entire medium or large pizza by myself in one setting. Since I still have another pizza, of the same size, in my freezer I expect to commit the sin of gluttony again this weekend. Another of the sins, I have committed in recent years is sloth, which I normally have difficulty with when it comes to housekeeping. Of the two, the one I am most likely to commit is sloth, but gluttony runs a close second.

The seven deadly sins
are normal human weaknesses
taken to the extreme.

Each day
each individual
must considered
the degree
to which he or she
has committed one or more these sins,
why each sin was committed,
and how to correct that behavior.

Thought of the Day: "Confess your sins to the Lord and you will be forgiven; confess them to man and you will be laughed at." - Josh Billings
