Winter's icy hand
chills me to the bone,
a stark contradiction
to the peaceful blanket
of white.

What began as a single snowflake
gently kissing my cheek
soon became an onslaught
of blinding snow and ice.

Seeking refuge from the assault
in my pajamas by a cozy fire,
I anxiously await
the snow's departure
and a warm embrace
from the summer sun.
