Favorite Hobbies

Prompt: Tell me about your favorite hobbies. Why do you do them? Could you teach someone to do them?

I write. I would like to make a living at it but I don't think I can. I have a Free Lance Writing Diploma and a Short Story Writing Diploma. I did teach short story writing classes for 2 months about eight years ago here at WDC. I have thought of applying to Writer's Digest School as an Instructor and you do your teaching by snail mail and on line now probably. This is where I took my Short Story Writing Class. It was all done by snail mail.

Scrapbooking. I am a Creative Scrapbook Designer and I have a Degree. I took ten classes and some other classes. I love scrapbooking and I do it when I can. It is amazing what you can do with pictures and embellishments. I am making memories and preserving them in albums. I have won Grand Champion, Champion and Reserve Champion at the County Fair. I could teach this class. I had a class for some family members. I would have to have ten students a week and charge $20.00 a person and I live in a small town so I am not sure how many I would have. I have thought about it.

Rubber Stamping.I do this with my mother. She is an expert at this. I make cards. It can be fun but I love scrapbooking better. I would rather go out and buy Hallmark Cards then make my own. I have no desire to teach this. The ink is messy and you have to wash the stamps and dry them. To me, scrapbooking is so much easier.

I used to love to record shows on VHS Tapes and then edit and add stuff. It was like making and producing my own movies. Now, with CD's, you can't do that. It is like piracy or something. I used to do this for me but can't no more.

That is about it for me and hobbies outside of collecting various items. I read. I can't paint or draw. I used to knit but I haven't picked up knitting needles in years. I did oil paint by numbers in high school. I tried making bracelets but it is too tedious. I like to bake cupcakes on my cupcake maker. That is about it for me.
